McLaren Park Vista
Some attractive, mature trees and a fence-blocked view were the only positive features of this lot half paved over by a cracked pad of concrete. At the request of the client, Earthly Delights created an Asian-inspired garden, featuring Japanese maples, and other shade loving plants around the shady perimeter. A gravel path leads from a new deck wrapping around the sunny center bed featuring natives and other drought tolerant plantings flanking a dry stream bed. A wider lower path was created from the repurposed concrete. Clusters of blue-glazed asian pottery add color accents and provide space for easily tended vegetables, herbs and flowers. Finally the 6’ fence was lowered towards the back corner, opening up the garden to a sweeping view towards the bay.
“I have used many gardeners over the last 40 years in San Francisco, and Earthly Delights is the absolute best. Michael and his excellent assistants transformed a yard of blackberries and weeds into a beautiful garden with some Japanese accents. Unusual plants and ornamental grasses blend to add texture and visual delight, while also attracting butterflies and hummingbirds They work hard to understand the client’s unique needs and provide very personalized maintenance. Thanks for the excellent work!”
